The Value Proposition Canvas maps customer needs (jobs, pains, gains) to your offering (products, pain relievers, gain creators). It ensures your product actually addresses what customers care about.
Start with the customer side: What jobs are they trying to do? What pains frustrate them? What gains would delight them? Then map your product: How do you address each? Look for gaps and mismatches.
Value proposition canvas zooms in on one part of the business model canvas — the fit between customer segments and value propositions. Business model canvas covers the full business (channels, revenue, costs, etc.).
