Enhance Context skill — keep your context files fresh as you learn

Drop new documents into input folders and Claude Code merges the insights into your context files. Run /enhance-context whenever you have research, interviews, or competitive intel to fold in.

When to use this

  • You are setting up your initial context files and want to make sure Claude knows the key information
    • You have internal docs (PRDs, strategy memos, metrics decks) that should update company.md or product.md
  • You want to update your files over time:
    • You ran new user interviews or research and want the findings reflected in personas.md
    • You picked up competitive intel (pricing pages, positioning shifts, win/loss notes) for competitors.md

Setup

  1. Put your documents in the right folder — /context/inputs/ for company and product docs, /discovery/inputs/ for user research, /strategy/inputs/ for competitive intel.
  2. Run /enhance-context in Claude Code.
  3. Review the file count and source list, then approve the scan.
  4. Review the extracted insights grouped by target file with source attribution, then approve the merge.
  5. Read the summary report and resolve any contradictions the skill surfaces.

How it works

The skill reads your existing context files, scans the three input folders, and routes insights by folder: company and product docs go to company.md and product.md, research goes to personas.md, competitive intel goes to competitors.md. Merges are additive — the skill appends an Enhanced from [folder]/[filename] section, preserves verbatim quotes, respects USER-MANAGED markers, and never silently overwrites. Contradictions are flagged for you to resolve. Every context file is read on every skill run, so the skill enforces per-file word targets and will compress, drop lower-priority detail, or ask you to prioritize when a merge would push a file past its target.
